A lovely box :)

Hello friends and Happy Belated 2016!!!

I cannot believe it has been so long since my last post, we hit a rocky patch the past few months but things are slowly going back to normal. I wanted to stop by to share with you this box I made for my nephew's girlfriend. I cannot believe he is old enough to be dating!!!! I guess my word this year will be "incredulity" LOL!

Anyhow, this box will hold a customized jewelry set my but he won't allow me to share until after V's day I hope I don't forget to come back and show you  what I made for her.

I started with a panel of watercolor paper and art masking fluid.

Then I  watercolored the heart using Faber-Castell Gelatos in two shades of blue. I stamped a few hearts using "aquamarine" archival ink. I stamped the dolphin from PCS' "Sea Ya Later" on Vellum using Black Archival ink In order to create the "mirrored" dolphins I stamped one on the front and the other one on the back of the paper, that is the beauty of vellum :), . Then I colored in using Spectrum Noir markers. The panel was adhered to a 5" square box I cut with the Cricut Explore.

I wanted to give it some sturdiness so the box can become a "wall art" piece if desired. so I mixed some Faber Castell Glass Bead Gel and Glossy Mod Podge, brushed it over the top of the box. you can see there is a lot of sparkle. I hope she loves it as much as I do :) He also asked me to borrow my  label maker to add a personalized message to it, but he wont let me see it! Curiosity is killing me!! LOL!

Well that is it for me for now. Cutting it short to play along Pretty Cute Stamps Monthly Challenge: LOVE CHALLENGE

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Summer Fun Blog Hop, day 4

Hello friends, welcome to day 4 of our Summer Fun Blog Hop!                                 Don't you just love all the projects showcased this week? I am so lucky to be part of this fantastic hop I could not resist to keep on creating and today I want to share with you another Farm inspired project. This time I created a Piñata by recycling a box, using some scrap card stock, crepe paper, the fabulous eBosser, Xyron Corner Glue Stick, sticker maker and the X Tape Runner. I started by removing the flaps from the top of the box and then scoring two horizontal lines on the sides of it and a diagonal from the upper center point to the line on the sides. Cut slits on the corners all the way to the scored lines. Cut a small square on each side -just below the scored line-to run the rope thru them. Also, cut an opening on the back so you can fill it with goodies. Folded the new flaps inwards. Gl...
