Embellished Reusable Gift Bag

I am here today to share with you my post for CRAFTWELL, an embellished reusable bag, created using some of the fabulous products from our May sponsor: Casual Fridays. I just love the end result, how about you?



 The story behind:

If you have visited me before, you know that I love using little scraps of either paper or fabric. A while ago I got a bunch of these large polyester bags from OT, and I just love personalizing them. They have been a great success with all recipients thus far J. Since polyester doesn’t take heat all too well – ask me how I know *wink*- I decided to embellish it using some “poomphed” flowers, stamps and some paint. Kept it almost monochromatic so the flowers will stand out. What do you think?

Creative supplies:
Casual Fridays Loving Thoughts Stamp set
Casual Fridays Loving Blossoms Frie-Dies
Reusable gift bag.
Cotton fabric. Mine is muslin (twice as much as your phoomp) about (15 x 3 inch)
Phoomp for fabric (about 8.5 x 3”)
Archival ink, mine is Coral from HS.
Small glass beads
Needle and thread
Ribbon for embellishing the top
Sewing machine.
Stencil (created with my eCraft)
Acrylic paint
Cardboard
Stenciling brush

eBosser plate combo: A + Metal plate + Fabric or Phoomp + Metal Die +  BCD
Craft Level: Easy
Time: 30-60 mins

Creative process:


Place a piece of cardboard inside your bag where you are going to position your stencil. Using the paint, stencil your monogram or initials. Let dry.

Using the thin metal dies cut your fabric flowers and Phoomp flowers. You will need two fabric flowers per 1 Phoomp flower.



Remove the backing of your Phoomp one side at a time and apply it to the back of your fabric flowers.


Stamp the front of your flowers.





Sew in place and add your glass beads. Make sure the ends of your threads are hidden between your bag and the back of your flowers. Please note that your needle might be a little tacky from the glue on the phoomp, after finishing your might want to clean it with a little bit of alcohol or goo gone.



Using your sewing machine, sew the ribbon/lace around the top edge and you are done!

Summer Fun Blog Hop, day 4

Hello friends, welcome to day 4 of our Summer Fun Blog Hop!                                 Don't you just love all the projects showcased this week? I am so lucky to be part of this fantastic hop I could not resist to keep on creating and today I want to share with you another Farm inspired project. This time I created a Piñata by recycling a box, using some scrap card stock, crepe paper, the fabulous eBosser, Xyron Corner Glue Stick, sticker maker and the X Tape Runner. I started by removing the flaps from the top of the box and then scoring two horizontal lines on the sides of it and a diagonal from the upper center point to the line on the sides. Cut slits on the corners all the way to the scored lines. Cut a small square on each side -just below the scored line-to run the rope thru them.
