Cards with Hexagons UPDATE

Hello friends!

I hope your day is going well. Today I decided to give this idea a try, over the past couple of weeks, I have seen several designs including HEXAGONS or honeycomb pattern so, when I read this weeks CREATE:blog challenge I decided to give it a try. The details for the challenge are:
"...The challenge for this week: cards with hexagons/honeycomb pattern. Hexagons are “the” shape right now so use 1 or use 20 on your cards! Please email a picture of your card with hexagons/honeycomb pattern and a link to your blog post featuring your card to paiget@northridgepublishing.com by next Thursday March 29th 2012 for a chance to have your card appear here! Have fun crafting!..."

SO EXCITED MY CARD WAS FEATURED ON THIS WEEK'S GALLERY OVER AT CREATE: BLOG.

For this card I used some Shery K designs digi papers for the little hexagons, then used multicolored cotton yarn for the  big hexagons , then embossed the corners with the traffic jam folder and the cuttlebug.

For this card I stamped "irregular" hexagons using a potato stamp ;) some chalk, then ran the card through the cuttlebug with the paper lace companion folder. I pop dotted the alphas and used score tape for the ribbon so it would stay in place when I added the little clothes pin.

Very simple cards but I think the message does not need many embellishments, I like that they look kind of retro don't you think?

Thank you for taking time to stop by, I do appreciate your comment, have blessed day!

Summer Fun Blog Hop, day 4

Hello friends, welcome to day 4 of our Summer Fun Blog Hop!                                 Don't you just love all the projects showcased this week? I am so lucky to be part of this fantastic hop I could not resist to keep on creating and today I want to share with you another Farm inspired project. This time I created a Piñata by recycling a box, using some scrap card stock, crepe paper, the fabulous eBosser, Xyron Corner Glue Stick, sticker maker and the X Tape Runner. I started by removing the flaps from the top of the box and then scoring two horizontal lines on the sides of it and a diagonal from the upper center point to the line on the sides. Cut slits on the corners all the way to the scored lines. Cut a small square on each side -just below the scored line-to run the rope thru them. Also, cut an opening on the back so you can fill it with goodies. Folded the new flaps inwards. Gl...
